31 Days of Warm Socks

Here at CSK, we are packing away the turkeys and hoping everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We all know what is around the corner now—Yes, another holiday! Our spunky little K-1's are busy decorating our room, and of course, enjoying the everyday rhythm of play and homework.

Please do not forget we are collecting brand new warm/tube socks for the men and women who participate in A HOPE of Asheville! If everyone can donate a bag of socks it will mean the world to someone. More about this in the blog section below from Sammy, our AmeriCorps member who is coordinating the sock drive. Peace, Love, and Harmony--

On December 1st we kicked off our 31 Days of Warm Socks sock drive! CSK is collecting new men's and women's socks in order to make sure everyone in our community is warm this winter. All socks collected will be donated in January to Homeward Bound's A HOPE Day Center.

According to Shelter Listings,

"A HOPE is WNC's only day center for people experiencing homelessness, and it serves a crucial need. When overnight shelters close for the day, A HOPE is open to meet different needs for those same clients. A HOPE is also often the only place that people who camp go to for services, which makes it a powerful outreach & engagement tool in our community. Almost everyone who’s homeless comes through A HOPE, and it serves as a hub of information & connection to other community resources."

For more information about A HOPE check out their website.

We hope to collect atleast 100 pairs of socks by January. As of right now we have 46 pairs, which we could not be more thrilled about! Thank you to those who have donated socks - it means so much. 1.5 weeks down, 2.5 to go!
