Who we collaborate with:

AmeriCorps is a national service program that recruits members to strengthen communities, get things done, build leaders and expand horizons. Located in the mountains of Western North Carolina, in the city of Asheville, Project POWER/AmeriCorps serves at-risk youth in schools, non-profits and faith- based organizations throughout Buncombe County.

Just Economics works to educate, advocate, and organize for a just and sustainable local economy that works for all in Western North Carolina. The Living Wage rate for Just Economics in 2016 is $12.50/hr or $11/hr with employer provided health insurance. A “living wage” is the minimum amount that a worker must earn to afford his or her basic necessities, without public or private assistance.

FEAST Asheville aims to increase the number of students in Buncombe County who grow, prepare and eat fresh produce as a part of their daily lives.

Through hands-on garden and cooking education in area schools and after school programs, we teach young people to prepare easy recipes with affordable ingredients.

The YWCA of Asheville wants to help families nurture and care for their children.

YWCA is dedicated to elimating racicism, empowering women & children, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

Children First/Communities In Schools (CIS) is a local non-profit committed to advocating and empowering children and families living in poverty. This is achieved through  education and direct services such as the Family Resource Center at Emma, our after-school Learning Centers, Latino Outreach, Project POWER/AmeriCorps, and Success Coordinators in Emma & Johnston Elementary School.

Bricks 4 Kidz offers fun, hands-on programs where kids  can learn, build and play with LEGO® bricks. Our specially designed project kits and theme-based models provide the building blocks for the Bricks 4 Kidz approach to educational play.

Lango classes are a terrific way for students to learn a foreign language while having fun! Our classes are enriched with music, storybooks, games, cultural learning, and crafts!  We offer Spanish, French, and Chinese language classes for children 18 months to 12 years!
